ERDL, or Engineered Dazzle Camouflage, is a camouflage pattern developed by the United States military in the 1960s. The name ERDL stands for "Engineering Research and Development Laboratory", which was the institution responsible for creating the pattern.
ERDL camo is characterized by its unique combination of dense organic shapes in shades of green, brown, and black. The pattern was specifically designed to disrupt the outlines of military personnel and equipment in woodland environments. It was initially used by US troops during the Vietnam War and later adopted by various other military forces around the world.
ERDL camo has since been replaced by more modern camouflage patterns, but it remains popular among collectors and enthusiasts of military gear. The pattern has also inspired newer iterations, such as the "Woodland" camo pattern used by the US military today.
